Chainergy has a purpose. The purpose to link together different pieces of knowledge, in the commodity, energy, oil and digital world.
This blog is my brainchild.

I have been living through the, or close to, the commodity world for the last 20 years almost.
My passion is this, the international trade. Why? Because it makes sense. Because trade has shaped our history, our wellbeing and our lives.
Because more people were lifted out of poverty through trade than by any government or charity.
Because where there is trade there is peace, understanding and culture.
Because I come from a city that always looked at the sea in front of it, rather than backwards.
Because trade is maligned yet without it our world would cease to exist. I love trade. I love the people behind it. I love the places, the smells and the culture.
My aim is to tell the stories of the people, behind the scene. What is going on, when and how.
The aim of this site is to educate, and to let people of this industry and beyond know what’s going on.
To explain trading to non-trading folks (the vast majority, it seems). And to start a discussion.
Because the world needs more trade, not less. The world need better trade. It needs the right policies, instruments and tools. And I hope to be a small part of the progress of trade.
I have been advising energy and trading firms for over 15 years on topic such as process improvement, Finance, compliance and fund raising. I have a passion for this world. I have been trading coffee myself (coffee is indeed my other passion) and I hope to share a bit of my knowledge with my readers, and I hope to bring a positive discussion on such an important, yet misunderstood vital part of our economies, and of our life.
